Lao Tsu Teachings
  1. Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.
  2. Those who flow as life flows know they need no other force.
  3. Nothing is softer or more flexible than water, yet nothing can resist it.
  4. Music in the soul can be heard by the Universe.
  5. If you are depressed, you are living in the past;
    If you are anxious, you are living in the future;
    If you are at peace, you are living in the present.
  6. Stop trying to leave, and you will arrive;
    Stop seeking, and you will see;
    Stop running away, and you will be found.
  7. When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.
  8. Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.
  9. A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.
  10. At the center of your being, you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.
  11. To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders.
  12. Silence is a source of great strength.
  13. Do the difficult things while they are easy and do the great things while they are small.
    A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.
  14. If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.
  15. The key to growth is the introduction of higher dimensions of consciousness into our awareness.
  16. Act without expectation.
  17. Creating without claiming; doing without taking credit; guiding without interfering. This is Primal Virtue.
  18. I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures.
  19. Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone gives you courage.
  20. Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.
  21. He who knows others is wise. He who knows himself is enlightened.
  22. He who knows , does not speak. He who speaks, does not know.
  23. If you correct your mind, the rest of your life will fall into place.
  24. The best fighter is never angry.
  25. New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings.
  26. Happiness is the absence of striving for happiness.
  27. A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: “we did it ourselves.”
  28. Watch your thoughts; They become words.
    Watch your words; They become actions.
    Watch your actions; They become habit.
    Watch your habits; They become character.
    Watch your character; It becomes your destiny.
  29. When you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everybody will respect you.
  30. To lead people walk behind them.
  31. He who know that enough is enough will always have enough.
  32. Kindness in words creates confidence.
    Kindness in thinking creates profoundness.
    Kindness in giving creates love.
  33. Love is of all the passions the strongest, for it attacks simultaneously the head, the heart, and the senses.
  34. Every step is on the path.
  35. To attain knowledge, add things everyday.
    To attain wisdom, remove things everyday.
  36. All streams flow to the sea because it is lower than they are.
